The Berlitz General Union was formed in the early 1990's in response to the rapidly deteriorating conditions at Berlitz LCs throughout Japan. The Berlitz General Union is made up of two sister unions that provide support for teachers across Japan.

This legally registered Japanese labour union open to all nationalities from all walks of life was formed in 1991, and has built a strong reputation by protecting workers' rights and improving working conditions. Offers information and advice concerning Labor and Trade Union Law.
